Finnish Wizard..

During Night of Arts, all Helsinki turns into the big stage, giving you one night possibility to became an actor, artist or musician... Every year city produces a paperback program (in Finnish and English) with the list of the most most interesting attractions, concerts, improvisations...and you can choose before hand what to see and where to go.

This year it was organized on the 23rd August. You can find more information for example on Visit Finland.

Regarding my personal experience, unfortunately it was again a disappointment (same as the year before). We have not seen much last year as well as this year. Either we chose wrong program or we came late...

This year I was quite excited about an announced ballet show on the roof of one of the hotels in the center...Unfortunately it turned out to be a performance of a woman standing high on the balcony waving hands - without music. We could not say, if it was a ballet dance or some random woman who was sick and called for the help.

Anyway, Night of Arts is a great opportunity to meet your friends and see the city different way. Center is full of street musicians, even DJs,...and people are everywhere. Unfortunately you can see many young drunk in the streets, which is more sad than interesting sight.

I attach some pictures which I made this year... and wish you that the following Night of Arts you attend is interesting and full of nice moments.

Alive Porcelain Dolls

Během Night of Arts se celé Helsinky mění ve scénu, veliké jeviště a kdokoli chce, se mění v herce, umělce, hudebníka... Město každoročně vydává program (ve Finštině a v Angličtině), ve kterém uvádí seznam největších atrakcí, hudebních koncertů, improvizací,... a vy si můžete buď vybrat, nebo jen tak vyrazit do ulici a na něco prostě narazit.

Letos se tato událost konala 23. srpna. Více info najdete na Visit Finland.

Co se týče osobních dojmů, bylo to moje v pořadí druhé zklamání. Loni jsme toho moc neviděli, stejně tak letos... buď jsme neměli štěstí a vybrali si méně zajímavý program nebo jsme prostě všude přišli pozdě...

Docela jsem se těšila na představení baletního souboru na střeše hotelu v centru... nakonec se z něj bohužel vyklubala jen jedna žena, která stála na balkoně, ve výšce tak stopadesát kilometrů a rozhazovala rukama. Z dálky nebylo úplně zřetelné, jestli je to to baletka, nebo jen šílená žena, které se udělalo zle od žaludku.

Nicméně, ať je to jak chce, Night of Arts je dobrá příležitost, jak se setkat s přáteli a vidět město tak trochu jinak. Centrum je víc než kdy jindy plné pouličních hudebníků, sem tam i nějaký DJ, na kterého si můžete zatancovat přímo na ulici... a všude jsou lidé. Bohužel i hodně mladých opilých lidí, což až tak hezký pohled není.
