Heureka Tikkurila

Fun interactive museum close to Helsinki. Just take a train from the main station and spend whole day surrounded by science. Exeprience, learn and discover something new in an entertaining way. Great for children as well as adults.

Zábavné interaktivní muzeum kousek od Helsinek. Stačí sednout na vlak na hlavním nádraží a můžete strávit celý den ve světě vědy. Zažijte, naučte se, objevte něco nového, navíc zábavnou formou. Skvělé pro děti i pro dospělé.

Expedition on Mars exhibition (january 2014)

Heureka is located in Vantaa, one of the regions of Helsinki. If you do not know how to entertain your kids, would like to learn something interesting or want to try out some scientific experiments, I recommend this scientific interactive museum.

Permanent exhibition (HEUREKA CLASSICS) offers dozens of smaller or larger experiments - simple optical illusions, or the laws of physics; you can also pick up small passenger car with a few rollers, try firsthand earthquake, or ride a bike at a height of five meters. I recommend it especially for preschool and early school age. The space is also suitable for running around and meeting new friends.

A part of permanent exhibition

Another popular year-round attraction are trained rats playing basketball (BASKETBALL RATS). The show lasts about 15 minutes, including interpretation and takes place in a fixed time (schedule can be found on the website heureka.fi as well as on the spot). Commenation is available in Finnish only, but moderator/rat coach usually speaks English and is able to answer your questions after the performance.

Approximately every half a year other exhibitions are varied. In the past three years we have seen some of them and liked them (for example about mental diseases, about the journey and life on Mars, mines and mining, about dinosaurs, about global warming...). Within the museum you can also visit the Planetarium (PLANETARIUM, ticket is paid extra), which broadcasts nonfiction short movies for children and adults about science (i.e. universe, human body, etc.). Program can be found on the website. 

Price, of course, corresponds to the rich menu. It is not the cheapest experience. Adult ticket costs 19euros (in 2014) and it is more exoensive year by year.

I have to admit that I LOVE to visit this place. Our very first real date happened here and it was real fun. Since I live in Finland, I come there with Robert frequently. Even though it costs, I cannot deny it to myself. I took their "my" children I was babysitting before I got pregnant and cannot wait for little Juraj to grow up a bit. It will be whole new experience enjoying this place with him.

Heureka form the outside (october 2011)

Heureka se nachází ve Vantaa, jednom z regionů Helsinek. Pokud nevíte, jak zabavit své ratolesti, rádi byste se dozvěděli něco zajímavého nebo si chcete vyzkoušet nějaké vědecké pokusy na vlastní kůži, doporučuju toto vědecké interaktivní muzeum.

Stálá expozice (HEUREKA CLASSICS) nabízí desítky menších či větších experimentů - jednoduché optické klamy, či fyzikální zákony; no můžete si taky zvednout malé osobní auto pomocí několika kladek, vyzkoušet na vlastní kůži zemětřesení, nebo se projet na kole ve výšce peti metrů. Doporučuji ji zejména pro děti předškolního a mladšího školního věku. Místo je vhodné i k běhání a seznamování s novými kamarády.

Další oblíbenou celoroční atrakcí jsou cvičené krysy hrající basketbal (BASKETBALL RATS). Představení trvá asi 15minut včetně výkladu a odehrává se v předem určený čas (rozvrh naleznete jak na webových stránkách heureka.fi, tak přímo na místě). Komentář probíhá pouze ve Finštině, ale moderátor/trenér krys většinou mluví také Anglicky a je schopný vám po představení odpovědět na otázky.

Přibližně každý půl rok jsou v muzeu obměňovány další zábavné expozice. Za ty tři roky jsme jich pár viděli a líbily(o duševních oněmocněních, o cestě a životě na Marsu, o dolech a hornictví, o dinosaurech, o globálním oteplování...). Aktuální témata se dozvíte na webu v sekci Výstavy.

Basketball Rats

V rámci muzea můžete navštívit i Planetárium (PLANETARIUM, lístek se platí zvláště), ve kterém jsou vysílány populárně naučné krátké filmy pro děti i pro dospělé. Program najdete zase na webu.

Cena samozřejmě odpovídá bohaté nabídce. Nejedná se o nejlevnější záležitost. Lístek pro dospělého stojí 19eur (v roce 2014). Děti, studenti (s platnou kartou ISIC) či důchodcí mají slevu. Můžete také využít nabídky rodinného lístku pro dva či jednoho dospělého se dvěma dětmi. Více o cenách naleznete na webu heureka.fi.

Musím přiznat, že tam chodím moc ráda. Je to taková naše tradice. Naše první opravdické rande proběhlo právě tady a byla to zábava. Od té doby, co žiju ve Finsku, chodíme tam pravidelně. I přesto, že to něco stojí, nedokážu si to odepřít. Taky jsem tam vzala "své" děti, kterí jsem hlídala, než jsem otěhotněla... a nemůžu se dočkat, až bude Jurášek dost velký, aby si to taky užil.
