Winter Circus Nenä - Helsinki

First circus performance which I really enjoyed!

První cirkusové představení, které jsem si doopravdy užila!

In November a friend of mine took me to the circus. After more than ten years I have overcome the resistance to animals in cages and parodies on clowns. After all, it's useful to verify and strengthen your decisions and attitudes. We went to see the rehearsal Talvisirkus Nenä (Nenä Winter Circus).

We arrived to the final stop of metro Ruoholahti, walked over and plunged into the building reminding factory - crowded by hundreds of enthusiastic children and their parents. Along the way, I was told that it was not an ordinary circus, but the winter circus ... and that there were not going to be any animals, only artistes. The building in which the circus took place (Kaapeli - former cable factory - web Kaapeli) resembles an old factory and its rawness contrasted very well with running and laughing children and colorful circus lobby decoration.

When waiting for the performance we got pretty good and surprisingly cheap coffee and cinnamon cake (in Finnish kahvi ja pulla) and watched everything around fulfilling with children laughter, excitement and expectations of entertainment. At that moment I began to suspect that it will be good. Children are really the best audience - they will let you know immediately what they like and what they don't ... and most important thing  - they are not afraid to laugh out loud. :-)

The performance began rather awkwardly with two clowns attempting to explain the basic rules (no cell phone, no cameras, no food, etc..). Wannabe funny way. Those clowns were, say the truth, the only weak point of the show (after the show I told my friend Hanni, that the second clown imitating Finnish language was really funny and she - quite surprised - explained that it was not an imitation of Finnish, but Swedish. :-)).

However, the rest was just a great performance - live music all the time (4 excellent musicians who were able to play soul, jazz, Balkan, modern, let's sum it up - great diversity of music...), funny, imaginative and colorful costumes and unbelievable artistic performances. In some moments I realized that I was not clapping, just staring with my mouth open almost not breathing. This circus had everything - jugglers, snake-woman, circus riders, artist on a swing, artist in the hoop and in the net, 3 artistes on the trampoline, clowns, people dressed as animals ... but there was also something more. The flair and lightness, which was mixed with precision and elegance of every movement.

If you are planning to be in Helsinki from November 2011 to January 2012 and you have 30 euros to spend, I definitely recommend you this show.

V listopadu mě vzala kamarádka do cirkusu. Po víc jak deseti letech jsem překonala otevřený odpor vůči panáčkujícím zvířatům v klecích a parodiím na klauny a šla jsem. Přece jen je fajn občas si ověřit svůj postoj a utvrdit se v rozhodnutích. Šly jsme se podívat na generálku Talvisirkus Nenä (Winter Circus Nenä)
Metrem jsme přijely na konečnou Ruoholahti, popošly a vnořily se do budovy připomínaící továrnu - do prostoru zaplněného stvovkou nadšených dětí a rodičů. Po cestě jsem se od kamarádky dozvěděla, že nejde o obyčejný cirkus, ale o tzv. zimní cirkus... a že tam nejsou zvířata, ale artisti. 
Budova, ve které se cirkus koná (Kaapeli - bývalá továrna na výrobu kabelů - web Kaapeli)  připomíná starou továrnu a její syrovost velmi dobře kontrastovala s pobíhajícími dětmi a barevnou výzdobou cirkusového předsálí.
Během čekání na představení jsme si daly docela dobrou a překvapivě levnou kávu a skořicový koláč (finsky kahvi ja pulla), zatímco jsme pozorovaly, jak se všechno okolo plní dětským smíchem, nadšením a očekáváním zábavy. V tu chvíli jsem začala tušit, že to bude dobré. Děti jsou totiž nejlepším publikem, tedy pokud jde o cirkus a divadlo - okamžitě dají hercům najevo, co se jim nelíbí a co ne...a hlavně - nebojí se smát nahlas. :-)

Představení začalo dost rozpačitě pokusem dvou klaunů vysvětlit základní pravidla (bez mobilu, nefotit, nejíst, atp.) rádoby vtipným způsobem. Ti klauni byli, nutno říci, jedinou slabinou celého představení (Jediný srdečný záchvat smíchu jsem měla po představení, když jsem kamarádce Hanni říkala, jak mi přišel vtipný ten druhý klaun, který imitoval Finštinu - řekněme, že jsem se některým momentům i nahlas zasmála - a ona mi prozradila, že nešlo o imitaci Finštiny, ale o Švědštinu. :-) ).
Nicméně celý zbytek představení byl prostě skvělý - žívá hudba po celou dobu (4 výborní muzikanti, kteří tam házeli soul, jazz, balkán, modernu,...různorodost veliká), vtipné, nápadité a barevné kostýmy a artistické výkony neuvěřitelné. Chvílemi jsme se přistihla, že netleskám, jen zírám s otevřenou pusou a skoro nedýchám. Tenhle cirkus měl všechno - žongléry, hadí ženu a krasojezdkyni v jedné osobě, artistu na houpačce, artistu v obruči, artistu v síti, 3 artisty na trampolíně, klauny, lidi převlečené za zvířata...ale měl i něco navíc. Měl šmrnc a lehkost, které se mísily s přesností a elegancí každého pohybu.
Pokud se budete od listopadu 2011 do ledna 2012 pohybovat v Helsinkách a máte 30euro na zbyt, určitě doporučuju toto představení.
