I have discovered another trick in learning a foreign language. If you have roommates or live with your family (partner), include them. There is nothing more pleasant then having a nice witty conversation in the language you don't understand a whit... and even when the bottle of wine is open.

One evening we were sitting with Pavli in the kitchen, sipping white wine and I decided to brought my Czech-finnish pocket dictionary. We had fun till 1 a.m., flipping throught the dictionary, searching certain words we were interested in, reading Finnish phrases and trying to guess what they mean...and we laughed all the time.

And in the morning guess what happened. Not only that my had did not ache, I could remember about one third of the words as well. And I still can remember the crucial ones.

Here is my conclusion: " Let your beloved ones join your lessons. And find the ways to learn and have fun."

Přišla jsem na další zlepšovák při učení cizího jazyka. Jestli bydlíte s více lidmi nebo máte velkou rodinu, zapojte i je. Není nad to zpříjemnit si večer vtipnou konverzací v jazyce, kterému za mák nerozumíte... a ještě když k tomu otevřete láhev vína... :-)

To jsme si tak s Pavli seděly večer po práci v kuchyni, popíjely bílé víno a mě napadlo přinést svůj Česko-finský kapesní slovníček. Bavily jsme se až do jedné do rána. Listovaly jsme slovníkem, opakovaly si některá slova, četly si fráze ve finštině a pokoušely se uhádnout, co znamenají... a smály jsme se jak blázni. A to ráno... Nejen, že mě nebolela hlava, ale dobrá třetina slov tam zůstala.

A proto má další rada zní: "Zapojujte do učení i své blízké a učte se tak, aby vás to i bavilo."
